On Thursday 30th June, SLF attended the Graduate Fashion Showcase at University of Northampton. Seeing how the Institute for Creative Leather Technology (ICLT) and the Fashion School are working together successfully was evident through the work on display. Notably, was the winner of the 3rd year student Leathersellers’ Award, Martyna Ziebinska, who used food industry ingredients and biomaterials, combined with vegetable tanned laser-cut leather to create some beautiful pieces inspired by fallen sycamore leaves. There were some other wonderfully creative pieces made with leather, and Matthew Jones’ won the Graduate Fashion Week Footwear Award for his Sphere range of sports shoes.
