Weev and the Sustainable Leather Foundation (SLF) are pleased to announce a strengthened collaboration that will enhance communication across the leather industry, aligning material choices with sustainability and due diligence.
The two organisations first signed a Memorandum of Understanding in March last year. This next step builds on that foundation and demonstrates the growing value of their partnership. Through a reciprocal arrangement, SLF partners now have a no-risk opportunity to explore Weev’s powerful digital platform, which connects sustainable practices with a product directory and library that are easily accessible to brands. A tiered service model ensures both accessibility and affordability for ongoing use.
By linking SLF’s Transparency Dashboards with Weev’s cutting edge systems permitting industry players to digitalize the creation process, brands and suppliers gain a seamless solution that combines product choice and compliance in a single interface. Whether a brand begins with its own profile on Weev and links out to SLF, or starts with the SLF Dashboard and connects to Weev for material options, sourcing becomes simpler, smarter, and more responsible. This collaboration unites efficient material sourcing with the ESG due diligence required to ensure supplier integrity.
Deborah Taylor, Founder and Managing Director of the Sustainable Leather Foundation, commented:
“Since 2020, when the Foundation was established, we have been committed to working across the whole leather value chain to drive sustainable improvement and practices. Working closely with Weev allows us to extend our remit to designers who might not ordinarily be exposed to the sustainability credentials of the facilities producing the leathers they choose. We see this as a great opportunity to embed sustainability into the design proposition and thought process.”
Taylor added: “Weev’s intelligent platform is a great example of how systems can be adopted to support sustainability objectives, and we are excited to start this next phase of our collaboration together.”
Szilard Szurdok, CEO of Weev, stated:
“At Weev, we believe that the future of fashion begins with transparency and collaboration. By combining SLF’s unrivalled insight into sustainability with Weev’s digital infrastructure, we are enabling brands and suppliers to make informed, responsible decisions at every step of the process. This partnership is more than a technical integration – it is a shared commitment to shaping a fashion industry where sustainability is not an option, but the standard.”
SLF was established in 2020 and provides a systematic approach to sustainable improvement for the leather industry through its innovative Transparency Dashboard and integrating Certification Programme. SLF holds at its heart, its AIM Approach – sustainable improvement must be Accessible, Inclusive and Modular to ensure all actors in the leather value chain can benefit from the education, tools and support that enable transformative change.
Weev connects brands and suppliers on a shared platform to make the creation process faster, more transparent, and more sustainable. Weev believes in maximizing resources while reducing waste and time to market. Weev’s suppliers on their platform are in alignment and embrace these principles.
For more information, you can visit the Weev team at Micam on 7-9th September 2025 where they will be pleased to talk more about the collaboration and platform solution.
SLF will be at Lineapelle on 23-25th September 2025, with an office in the organisers centre, and the team there will be on hand to discuss how SLF and Weev can support organisations with their sourcing and sustainability requirements.
